Edited 8 days ago7/10 reissue I would agree it suffers the same issues that a storm in heaven does, although to me this is just very thin. thin. thin. this will do alright I suppose until I can get my hands on a pricey OG. Interested to compare this to an OG CD.

beautiful edition, great definition of sound. Midrange and bass stand out. no warp. No problem. the detail of the silver envelope is excellent. I have been looking for this vinyl for a long time and it is finally in my collection. I can only compare the audio with the cd and I am very very satisfied with the sound of this edition. I'm having a hard time understanding what audio issues some are talking about. greetings!

Hello to the Discogs community! I'm a new member, just getting back in to vinyl. I wondered if any of you good, and more knowledgeable folks could help me out on this vinyl release please. I recently bought a sealed copy off eBay. The barcode 6 02547 865397 is correct. The Rights Society BIEM/SDRM is correct. The Label Code LC03098 is correct. The year 2016 is correct. But the Matrix / Runout of BG29235 4786539 does not match. Mine has 4787015 on all sides (A1, B1, C1, D1). Is this legit or have I been sold a dud? Massive thanks in advance :)

Awesome. my copy has just arrived. Where have all these 2016 issues suddenly appeared from i wonder??

As with Owen Morris produced ( see Definitely maybe by Oasis)albums the recording is bright and has no warmth and is very digital and best described as produced for radio .
-
Nothing wrong with my copy - everything sounds like it should - which is likely the CD version, since this is from a digital master... with that said, none of the issues anyone is describing below, and the vocals sound great in the mix... as do all the other instruments...
-
same problem as the Storm In Heaven reissue. Vocals are TOO LOUD. Sound is no good. AVOID these reissues. Waiting for a proper, masters-based good reissue of this. For me this one is worthless.

This is a weird album because in general it sounds great, and some tracks are extremely dynamic and detailed (especially quieter songs). But too many of the tracks sound compressed, loud, and with a weird crunchy distortion in both the instruments and voices, and as others have noticed, vocal sibilance. I don’t have an original vinyl pressing to compare, and I haven’t compared to digital yet, but I’m thinking the issues have more to do with the recording and/or mastering rather than the pressing itself. The pressing seems great, and quiet.
