Ah, the good old days of techno, when NASA samples ruled the earth (see, for example, "One Giant Step"). The Grid's first album _Electric Head_ certainly shows its age, but it's still plenty fun to listen to, from the slow throbs of "Are You Receiving" to the thumping "Intergalactica." Sure, many of the tracks are disposable house ("Driving Instructor," "This Must Be Heaven") or are just flat-out stinky ("Doctor Celine") but on the plus side, you have the early club hit "Beat Called Love." Better yet, at the end of the album, you get the granddaddy chill-out track "Floatation." It's a blissful track, good enough to cover-up the other flawed bits of the album.
