I got the German pressing, no Back to Black hype sticker. It sounds killer from front to back. Zero clicks and pops. No need to compare to a 100€ + OG pressing. It's a punk record and blasted right through my speakers from the start. It's comes in a lovely black and was deadflat due to being 180g heavy. Artwork looks just as fine. If you're thinking of acquiring a copy of this album, don't hesitate and grab a copy of this pressing.

I bought a copy the other day, which has a different address on the back of the cover for Universal. The album has a sticker with "Made In "
Universal is located on the new address from September 2019. The runout is different as well -
Edited 2 months agoIf this is a digital master, it is surprisingly good and does not lack detail. My copy at least however has a fair bit of popping and clicking on tracks B1 and B2, even after a cleaning - so I cannot confirm whether I was unlucky or if it was the actual pressing.
Presentation: 3/5
Pressing (pops, skips): 4/5
Mastering (audio source): 4/5
Sleeve: Anti-static Inner
Setup (turntable, stylus): AT-120XUSB, AT-VM95ML -
Edited 10 months agoI review pressings, not mastering, and I can say this pressing is incredible. It is functionally perfect. Dead quiet background and not one pop/click to be heard across either album side after cleaning.
Regarding pressing quality, I highly recommend this.
EDIT: I just wanted to add, as someone else mentioned, the cover image is supposed to be blurry. On this version and others, if you look at the band name logo, it is clear. -
Edited 8 months agoLovin this press! Crisp vivid sound with clarity and depth. GREAT at volume 11! Cleaned ultrasonically prior to play for optimal results

Edited one year agoOkay, I compared the original City Slang pressing on black vinyl with this 2016 reissue. Regarding the cover, the original is a bit shiny, unlike the matte reissue. The image quality is exactly the same for both, and neither includes a printed inner sleeve. I prefer the brighter label of the original.
As for the sound, it’s clear that the original DMM version is the winner. It sounds more vibrant, with greater detail and a good balance between low and high frequencies, immediately capturing your attention. The jangling guitars, push-pull dynamics, and Courtney’s sighing and then screaming vocals truly come to life in the original.
The reissue sounds decent but no more than that. At the same volume (considering the original is also significantly louder), the reissue sounds somewhat flatter and muddier. -
I'm actually quite pleased with this. The sound kind of exceeded my expectations if I'm being honest. Wish more effort had been put on the packaging though.

Sounds okay. Not even close to audiophile but it is a grunge record. Worth owning if you want a vinyl copy, but the original CD is just as good if not better.
