I just pre-ordered the limited yellow lp edition of Relentless off their site. Not cheap, but will probably hold some value in the future.
-
oh . . . and I forgot to mention the UK, 500 pressing, 12" promo, of Relentless on powder-puff pink, blue and yellow vinyl . . .
Unlike the rubber number CD, that vinyl promo pressing DID NOT state / brag "limited", but it truly was and always was a bit of a holy grail, one I was a bit lazy with and didn't manage to obtain. -
A different perspective; I disagree with MrDayInTheUK’s below reply to franksrecords.
I always liked this rubber wallet version of the Very Relentless album and bought it on the day it was released, when Woolworths still existed. It really is a cool little package (!) and the best way of owning this album (apart from a double Russian CD too hot to handle). So, I too was a bit surprised the price hardly, if ever, went up. This neat, quirky rubber number, Very Relentless, has always been available on the second hand market and at a decent price. The simple fact is Very Relentless is not rare, not so "limited". 15,000 copies – the question regarding its collectability value really is as simple as that.
For rare check out: the Wake Up 10” acetate, The Truck Driver and His Mate 12” promo, some of the many and obscure remixes from the Bilingual era. The annuals with their CDs, rare promo CDs such as Try It, Love etc. The earlier vinyl pressings under the X2 label. A lot of the vinyl low-number pressings, pressed during the gloomy no-vinyl years, around 2000. The vinyl box set anthologies and their promo editions such as Introspective, Alternative, Pop Art and Disco Four. Finally, vinyly (trumpet fanfare), the beautifully produced Vinyl factory pressings for PSB, all three albums of which are pure works of art. Prices in the thousands for some of these items. PSB is certainly in good company with DM and NO as far as collectability value is concerned (but it's not really the most interesting discussion in the first place.)
Desirability and quality of the music affects collectability and price; but so too is the actual number of items released. You can’t just call something “limited” and pretend it is rare. And as mentioned, not sure of the too-loose comparison to DM and NO as both these groups have produced collectable and non-collectable stuff . . . all three are great groups. -

Did anyone else's copy of this have Relentless on both CD's, even the artwork on both CD's is printed correctly?
-
Would love to know why the Relentless tracks were not all added to the Further Listening edition of Very (?) I see only one track. Seems like a missed opportunity, anyone know why?
-
Surprised this is not fetching for more, excellent limited edition. I rarely if ever see this one in the wild.
-
Edited 8 years agoI used to have this CD I that CD cover. DUMMY ME gave it to a friend who was a huge PSB fan
because I got tired of it. -
The case still smells vaguely of bubblegum almost 20 years after purchase. Is this by design or not? Probably is.
