Edited 20 years agoThe Pet Shop Boys' peppy A RED LETTER DAY gets club-friendly remixes: the Tro Enthusiasts fashion a suitable minor-key progressive house mix (and a matching dub), and Motiv-8 do up a more energetic version. But the obvious standout is the moody Basement Jaxx mix, which uses a more deconstructed kick drum along with more constructed noises. But when the synth patches come in, the track takes on an eerily beautiful quality that matches Neil Tennant's cool delivery perfectly.
