Edited 2 months agoFor what they had to use as a source (cassette tape) I was quite happy with this. The spirit of the great music come through just fine and doesn’t need to be pristine imo. They did a good job giving this to the world -
The quality of the source audio is like most Ethio records, horrific. the quality of the music itself on the other hand, is as good as it gets. Hailu & Dahlak forged something truly original and beautiful.

Can anyone speak to the sound quality and pressing quality of this? I’ve read that the source tapes were pretty noisy, looking for first hand knowledge.

Super loose deep grooves & vibes that have that same mystical energy/sound as the Sweet Sister Ray/Booker T boots. Easily best release from Awesome Tapes in my opinion.
