Edited 8 months agoSuper clean. Listening to Thriller through headphones…THE LAYERS. I’m blown away. This was the final copy at my local Target.

Got my copy from Walmart today. Looks and sounds great. After having a bad experience with some Walmart pressings, I was a bit concerned this will turn out to be a similar situation, but looks like it is not. I’m satisfied with the record.

Pressing is really good. Instruments are sharp and separated. Quite loud and very hardly noticeable cracks and pops. Very enjoyable record. Just wish the voice would be a little louder in the mastering, feel that it should be getting more focus. But that shouldn’t stop you from buying this

Edited one year agoSolid Re-press. I have Michael Jackson - Thriller (original print) and this sounds pretty identical
-
I know this pressing does not beat an original or Mofi pressing, but i still think it's a really good reissue.
I think the sound quality is lovely and the pressing is ok with a little surface noise.
I made a needledrop of one of the tracks from this vinyl record - You can find it on the right side in the videos - Under the name: Michael Jackson - The Girl Is Mine (Ft. Paul McCartney) (Thriller) (2016 European Vinyl) -
Despite how dirty the record was out of the wrapping, this sounds pretty fantastic. Falters a bit at the end of Side B, but otherwise is great
-
I don't care who you are or what music you listen to, you must have this in your collection. This is emblematic of '80s pop music, and is a masterpiece of writing, performance, and production.
This reissue and pressing is absolutely wonderful. Quit looking for an early press and just grab this one. You will not be disappointed. Recommended. -
Edited 4 years agoThis is an excellent pressing. I actually have a first European pressing from the early 80s to compare this with and this one is not worse. Excellent dynamics and very rich sound at a low price. [ Playing this using an Ortofon 2M Black cartridge ]
