Not getting any sibilance with my AT VM540ML micro line stylus. Cut very loud, a precursor to the loudness wars.
Classic album but in danger of being overproduced -
Picked up a VG+ copy at a garage sale, cleaned it, and cranked it. Immediately had to turn the tremble way down and did notice a hint of simbilance on Billy Jean, but otherwise seems to be a real nice press here.

WOW THIS ALBUM IS STILL SELLING BY THE MILLIONS EACH ANS EVERY DAY EVEN SELLERS ON DISCOGS ARE RIPPING PEOPLE OFF WITH EXTREMELY HIGH PRICES FOR THIS ALBUM

Ortofon 2M Blue through Rotel preamp/amp, and absolutely no sibilance. Sounds absolutely fantastic. Really jumps out of my Klipsch. Lively pressing.

This press sounds excellent. If you can find a clean one at an affordable price, buy it. I don't have any major sibilance issues with my copy.
-
The promo LP I have has PAL 38112-2EB etched on the matrix on side A which I don't see listed here. Is this the same pressing I own? When I search that identifier, the linked page on Discogs comes up as Not Found and a Google search only turns up one results with an album on a Russian site for sale.

Really happy with this pressing. All the original US pressings are known to have the sibilance issue. I imagine it was a mastering choice to get the overall sound of the album to have a certain amount of presence. In my opinion this still sounds really good. If you're looking for the best sounding audio file versions I suggest trying to find the 12" singles for Billie Jean and Thriller. After listening to those it's hard to go back to the regular album versions.

What is the difference in regards to value whether or not an original of a Thriller (QE 38112) pressing DOES or DOES NOT list Michael Jackson as a co-producer on the back cover?
Thanks, Izzy -
