Super bummed this pressing is very poor quality. Had high expectations as the records are very nice, definitely have a little weight. Either 150 or 180 gram. Playing on a Fluance RT85 through a Cambridge Alva duo after a proper cleaning and anti static brush. Absolutely no reason this should sound the way it does. Have had no other issues with any records but this one just sounds bad. The vocals sound like they’re clipping on most tracks. After seeing other reviews that say the same I have come to the conclusion it’s a bad pressing.

I got this pressing a while ago, I’d say maybe 4 months ago, and I literally have not played this record since. It really sounds that awful. The sibilance is near unbearable. On “Fifteen”, it sounds like she’s singing with a mouth full of water (“You take a deep breaTTH and you walk through the doorSHe itSH the morning of your very firSHt day”). “Change” sounds like she just lost her two front teeth and ith trying to thhing regardlethh. Definitely my most sibilant album in my collection, and I own “American Life” by Madonna.
I agree with the other reviewers when they say that this is really just an expensive display piece, I view it as nothing more. If you’re getting this record just to have it for your collection, then go for it. But if you’re a Swiftie looking to listen to “Fearless” on vinyl, go with the Taylor’s Version pressing! Not only is it on swirly gold vinyl, but it sounds miles better than this disaster. -
This was the breakout album that started making Taylor Swift a household name. One of the things Fearless really highlights is Swift’s storytelling, and how she can make the listener go on the journey with her. Examples of this include “Fifteen”, “Love Story”, and “White Horse”.

This doesn't sound that great. It is a really decent quality pressing. 180 gram records. The packaging is very decent. The sibilance is really bad -- hissy "s" sounds. I think "Love Story" sounded muffled. This just isn't an amazing, pristine pressing like her other vinyl releases. It is still cool to have in the collection, but I hope this is remixed and repressed. -
So I just received my copy and I'm surprised... I was expecting it to sound awful, but this sounds really really good, I'd give it 5 stars lol. Also the images and colors look great -
It's completely butchered, the sibilance is excruciating on almost every track. This is a very expensive display piece, nothing more. I have all the Taylor albums on vinyl and this is the worst sounding one. -
Edited 8 years agoThe diction aka the sibilance or her vocals on each track are just too painful to listen to. Not sure if it's just a pressing issue. [UPDATE]: the dynamics are average to a CD recording but if you use a good deck, it will bring out a bit of character in the recording :) -
