This is the best sounding Bowie album of all time, IMHO. Immense soundstage, phat bass and drums, with the atmospheric keyboards and lovely saxophone lines floating around the vocal, which is also huge sounding. Good flat pressing too. -
Excellent album and excellent release. The sound is deep, wide and immersive. Some light clicks right out of the sleeve - nothing serious.

For once, in front of such greatness, I would not debate too much about technicalities, 1st press 2015 vs 2nds 2016 etc...
This is 100% a masterpiece: from the concept with death at his elbow, through the elaboration of the message until the final execution with that cutting edge electronic/jazz band: what a sublime legacy to humanity!
[By the way, my copy is flat and clean too. Sounds perfect]

My copy is just a tad off-centered but this is not affecting playback.
The record is flat and clean without noticeable clicks or pops.
The sound is a way more dynamic that the digital version with full deep bass and huge soundstage.

Edited 6 years agoGot this pressing today and was very happy with the sound quality. A few pops and crackles from dust that was already on the record before opening the shrink wrap, but still very clean. I didn't seem to notice any of the sound problems with Lazarus that others here were describing. Overall, much pleased with this compared to the CD release that I had first purchased. -
I was only able to access the weblink for the enclosed card by using a US proxy server, is it therefore only available for USA customers, despite the total lack of information, of use etc. (on the card or anywhere else) to this effect?

I've got the press in hard plastic inner sleeve. Sound is ok, even on mentioned Lazarus track, but it is quite noisy, lots of pops during more silent parts. I did a wet cleaning but no difference. a bit dissapoitment.
