Someone said soft and pleasant crackle....I don’t know if I would call it that. It’s still very listenable, however the constant crackle can be annoying. Luckily there aren’t any loud pops that make it even worse. I have the black wax version as well. This one is really for completists like me.

I've got a version of this with same cat number (WARP LP17) and barcode (5021603017108) but it on 2 x black vinyl and has different cover artwork. Any ideas?

Other comments are correct, the Artificial Intelligence series colour records are truly dreadful quality pressings. The Black Dog copper one is probably the worst of the bunch followed by this Ae one and Aphex SAW II. Even though I own this record and may be persuaded to sell at some point in the future, I recommend you don't buy it, unless you are an Ae completist and obsessive.

Can't completely agree with the others. I'm quite picky about vinyl and pressing quality and I don'd think it's THAT bad, slightly below average at least for sure but definitely not "terrible", I've heard far far worse. Most likely worse than the black one, but I don't own one and can't thus say for sure. I do have the later repress though and that one is definitely quieter. The main problem with this is that it's noisy. Not overwhelmingly so, but still more than it should. It's very soft and pleasant crackle though, and doesn't distract from the music itself. If you can find one in good condition for a decent price, there's no shame in buying one. Thoroughly enjoyable and one of those albums that definitely shines on vinyl over the CD.

All the coloured vinyl on the artificial series were awful.
I sent most of mine back to Warp and got a letter of apology plus the black vinyl copies.

Terrible sound quality on silver pressing. Really.

Can someone explain the differences between the covers of this silver edition and the black vinyl one from 1993? I have both and can't see any difference…

All these silver vinyl limited edition copies have an issue - SIDE A is pressed OFF CENTRE. Be warned.
