Mine is pretty rough as far as the whoosh and surface noise goes. Gave it a decent wet clean as well as I bought it used and it was pretty dusty. The vinyl looks to be in perfect condition so I dunno what to say other than maybe I have a bad copy or it needs an ultrasonic cleaning. Bummer because the album is so good and the mastering on this sounds pretty decent.

This record sounds great. Some minor pops here and there but it’s a vinyl record. 🤷♂️ I recommend this pressing.
-
First copy I received was quite noisy on both sides, but particularly side B. Second copy sounds amazing. Overall very quiet with the music sounding alive, transporting you to that winter cabin.
-
My pressing sounds good overall. Definitely not perfect, but overall sonically pleasing and enjoyable to listen to.
-
Great press, no whoosh or any other background noise. Pure Bon Iver goodness with luring, haunting detail. Happy with this one!

My copy of this definitely has the whooshing that others have noted. These 2008 pressings are dicey. Buyer beware...

Edited 4 years agoSide A sounds awesome, mostly quiet and fairly dynamic. Some minor pops but nothing that diminishes the listening experience. I do actually have a very slight woosh at the intro to side B and a repeating click at the end of side B. Definitely not a perfect pressing, but when it sounds good, it sounds good.

I have a slightly different Matrix / Runout: My side A has what is listed above, minus the "RE-5" and "RJ Sterling". So it just reads "JAG-115LP-A". Same thing for side B: only "JAG-115LP-B". Anybody know if this is a different pressing? Or...?
