When watching the new Ace of Base documentary I learned that the owner of the label, Kjeld Wennick, had the eccentric habit of removing the door to his office every time he signed a new artist. I couldn't help but make the connection to the "Other Data: The Gate Is Open" that is on the KLF's own release (KLF 004) of this single. While this "Other Data" is not seen on this release they instead have the "Primal Remix" (or The Techno Slam Mix Part 1) which is unique for Coma Records except for their own release (KLF 004R). On that track you hear a lot of door slamming samples and furthermore it contains a sample of David Bowman when he supposedly enters the Monolith AKA the stargate at the end of 2001. This sample is actually taken from "2010: The Year We Make " where they play a recording of this extraordinary event!
