The 7" A side named remix is the version that also appears on the CD single and both the original Austrian and German reissue 7"s. The b side of both 7"" versions is an exclusive edit of Mix 2 from Pure Trance 1. The full Power mix and 7" remix ( sometimes referred to as Evil edit) only appear on the original Austrian 12". The CD single is the only time Mix 2 from Pure Trance 1 appeared on cd. The CD and the reissue 12" is mislabelled and mispressed as it contains both sides of Pure Trance 1 and no Power mix.

When watching the new Ace of Base documentary I learned that the owner of the label, Kjeld Wennick, had the eccentric habit of removing the door to his office every time he signed a new artist. I couldn't help but make the connection to the "Other Data: The Gate Is Open" that is on the KLF's own release (KLF 004) of this single. While this "Other Data" is not seen on this release they instead have the "Primal Remix" (or The Techno Slam Mix Part 1) which is unique for Coma Records except for their own release (KLF 004R). On that track you hear a lot of door slamming samples and furthermore it contains a sample of David Bowman when he supposedly enters the Monolith AKA the stargate at the end of 2001. This sample is actually taken from "2010: The Year We Make " where they play a recording of this extraordinary event!

Actually I knew a bunch of versions by this stunning track: this both versions here are exceptional overall. Found 30 years later on a flew market.
It really sounds timeless- hearing both versions on wax again. Much more slowly as other mixes- but the sounds which coming out of your loudspeakers are just great. B side mix is electronic psychedelic as its best. Recommend

A side is a clunky remix, B side is an edit of the proper original version - no rap!

B2 Remix is not the same as on CD single. It is different version of edited Power Mix. Unique to this 12"

"Were those guys for real? I mean what's with all this Justified Ancients of Mu Mu shit?"—this quip in the fade-out cracks me up every time.

This is a very good direct metal mastering on quiet vinyl, and a great way to get the Live at Trancentral mix, if you don't have a clean copy on vinyl already.

Anyone know if the Arista promo VHS released 9/91 is the cornfield version?

Yep, worth buying alone for The Virtual Reality Mix, which is essentially 6 minutes of Chill Out. Tucked away, hiding on B2.

PP Arnold, 60s vocalist and voice of The Beatmasters' "Burn it Up" was a backing singer on the 1990 single re-release version (Live at Trancentral), as well as 3am. Apparently Arnold got screwed around by the group over payment. She described anger at not being paid the agreed amount and at the group burning a million. Naturally. It' s such an evil or deranged thing to do, especially when not even paying the people who made the money with / for you.
