The lyrics to Supernature were supposedly written by Lene Lovich, but she gets no credit that I can see [apart from a thanks]

Cerrone's third album is another one of those disco concept albums overlooked by many. Of course, the album is known for being home of "Supernature", a proto-techno-disco track that became a big worldwide club hit and a blueprint for many productions in the 80s and further decades. But there is more to explore.

In the album configuration, "Supernature" is just a first chapter of a story being told. Think of it as an extra-terrestrial observer who is observing what mankind is doing on earth. He observes man is attempting to put himself above other species of the planet. He has the ability to think, discover, research, develop, deploy. However, at a certain point, all this thinking, discovering, researching, developing and deploying will work against him. But the only solution to overcome this problem must be provided by man himself, because it would result in war, chaos and disorder ("Sweet Drums") and leave the planet in a state of destruction ("In The Smoke", an ambient variation of "Supernature").

The album's B-side, featuring a much fresher, more natural, and less mechanic instrumentation, provides the solution. All those things the human brain (e.g., "ratio") is able to provide cannot bring what mankind really needs: love. There is an inner desire to love that no technology can give and which seems to be unreachable to him ("Give Me Love"), but love is closer than he might think ("Love Is Here") and provides a more effective instrument to handle his life ("Love Is The Answer").
