This version appears to share the same plates as the 1976 reissue (P-6 series) based on the deadwax. As with that pressing, this has excellent sound. I own the 4 distinct releases from Japan issued between 1975-79 and all sound quite good. They also all share the same fade out just after Plant sings "my dying dying dying" and before Bonham's cough at the end of In My Time of Dying. IIRC, that does not happen on the US versions. Rather the tape keeps rolling and you hear some tape hiss before the cough. So perhaps all of these releases share the same plates or perhaps they're all just cut from the same tape. They do sound very similar in any event....

Quiet vinyl and excellent dynamics. Punchy drums, deep and well defined basslines, and highs are detailed. All and all, a solid pressing. Very happy with my copy. -
