Edited 3 years agothis is a mix that makes you want to be... a dj - if you heard the velvet underground at the right age, you wanted to be a music lover; if you heard the pixies at the right age, you wanted to play loud; if you heard this in your teens or twenties, you wanted to make things move

Edited 8 months agoUpbeat, dancefloor-friendly party mix from 2002 of different EDM styles, mainly electroclash, with a few trademark mash-ups and cover versions thrown in. 2 Many DJs' blends of Royksopp's "Eple" with Dolly Parton's "9 to 5", and Skee Lo's "I Wish" with The Breeders' "Cannonball" are particularly innovative. Some of the mashes (e.g., Salt 'N' Pepa vs. The Stooges) were already used on the less polished series. (9)

2 many djs are also known as The Fucking Dewaele Brothers. On their website: http://dewaeles.soulwax.com/
there's some interesting info about the new sleeve design!:
"Apparently, the photographer of the original photos (taken at some wild parties in the seventies) showed up, threatening to sue 2 Many DJ's for using his pictures."
I catching 2 Many DJ's at the Dour festival in Belgium last year. I was lucky enough to have backstage es and I have to say, I've never seen so many crates of old LPs and 12"s...
Words are difficult to find to describe the atmosphere as the Brothers Dewaele cleverly bridged the gap between the main stage rock bands and the club tent DJs. I grinning from ear to ear as they dropped silly mix after silly mix (silly, yes, but somehow following a thread that made perfect sense in my mind - maybe I was smoking the same dope as they were!)
All manner of silly behaviour ensued: have you ever seen crowd surfing and stage diving during a DJ set? -
Not a bad little mix, Pretty unique, sounds as if it has been mixed as a late night session on a pc. Technically not the best mix ever, but has some great tunes, and great smile factor
-
A perfect mix if I ever heard one. At least until I found the secret Kylie Minouge track. Now that's just cheesy. I'll take Dolly Parton over Minouge any day.
