The vocals which are used in ‘Choose Life’ are done by the actor Ewan McGregor. He played in famous movies such as ‘Star Wars’ and ‘A Life Less Ordinary’. The vocal part in ‘Choose Life’ is taken from the famous cult movie ‘Trainspotting’ (by Danny Boyle) from 1996. McGregor is also playing in this movie (he’s playing the character ‘Renton’).

The original version made by ‘PF Project’ was released in 1997 on the well known UK label Positiva. When Ferry was asked to do a remix of the track, the ‘Trainspotting’ movie wasn’t even out. So Ferry hadn’t even heard about the movie and no one actually knew that it was going to be such a big success. The vocal parts with the spoken dialogue by Ewan McGregor: (‘Choose life. Choose a job. Choose a career. Choose a family’ etc.) were censored, so you couldn’t hear the ‘F-word’ in it.

Ferry made a very decent remix of the track. The nice pumping bassline in his remix does remind me a bit of the bassline in the ‘Gouryella’ track ‘Gouryella’. As far as my information goes, the ‘Moonman Remix’ never saw an official retail release. There were only some limited pink vinyls pressed with Ferry’s remix on the A-side and a remix by ‘The Unknown DJ’ on the B-side. There is no catalog number pressed in the vinyl. You can only find the text 'PF Project - Choose Life' pressed in the vinyl.
