Such an incredibly dense orchestral soundtrack! The composer whose greek made magic & the movie was classic! Both the film & soundtrack are worth separately owning if you’re a true fan of blade runner like i am. I also own the novel which is “do androids dream of electric sheep” & i’d highly recommend that if you love this movie or soundtrack!

Best pressing ever made! The Audio Fidelity is just amazing. All sounds come through with breathtaking precision.

Love it all the way, from the pressing to the sleeve.
Truly a masterpiece, very happy to finally have it in my collection. -
Edited one year agoSo, so good - everything already mentioned about the pressing is spot on. Examples where various disciplines come together to produce something as seminal as Blade Runner are rare, and this pressing is the perfect way to honour that.

Disregarding the audio quality, which is definitely good and probably a step up from the EastWest pressing from 2015, it’s the visual execution that lacks a bit in my opinion. The front cover uses a more obvious and coarse raster vs. the 2015 release. This is not as disturbing and may well be an artistic choice. And while i like the black frame around the picture i prefer the typography of the 2015 release. Conversely the more subdued design of the back cover displaying the titles appeals more to me than the bolder approach of the 2015 release.
The least attractive feature of this Audio Fidelity release is the label design though. The use of drop shadows on an italic font overlaying hard to recognize movie artwork imagery makes it look dated to my taste. The Audio Fidelity logo doesn’t help in that regard either. The more stylized approach used for the EW 2015 issue with the track listing on one side and the artwork on the other side works very well. -
I can assure you that this is the definite version to own of the Blade Runner soundtrack. Outstanding fidelity.

I waited so long to pull the trigger on a copy of this but one came up on eBay and the seller took my offer. Back in college I probably listened to the cd 1000 times. Almost every night before bed. One of my absolute favorite albums of all time and, I'd argue, Vangelis' crowning achievement.
My copy is dead quiet and transparent. The quality of the pressing really does justice to the music. If you care about this album don't mess around with the other pressings. Just take the plunge and shell out for this one.
Listening setup: Micro-Seiki DD40 (Stanton 681EEE), McIntosh MX110, Marantz 8B, Altec Lansing 604D -
My copy sounds very good. Not as shrill as the CD. It's got a beefy, well-defined low end and the prevalent tinkly chimes have better presence and not as harsh. My only complaint is that Side A on my copy is pressed slightly off-center which causes some pitch issues. Strangely, the center hole on mine looks like it had been slightly enlarged and allows me to shift the record a bit on the platter to lessen the problem.

On my copy, the hype sticker is directly applied on to the gatefold jacket (rather than the bag). Wondering if anyone else's copy has the same.
