Edited 10 days agoMy buddy has been very generous and gave me his copy. This has been out of press for a while and I’m so grateful. The RJ cut sounds great! I don’t really have any issues with it. Lots of detail and instrument separation. I would tend to think all the negative comments are very nitpicking cuz this is more than very decent. Also I have a micro linear needle. People who complain about sibilance and other issues might be more of a cartridge/needle problem than a pressing problem. This is a great pressing!

Great album but there are some sibilance issues when James sings in a higher range. Instrumentals sound great but at quiet es surface noise can be noticeable. This is an album which I think would really benefit from a higher quality cartridge.

Does anyone else notice a problem with a high distorted silibance when he's singing? I worry that the American pressing of this isn't very good. Can anyone confirm?

I'm not too pleased with this one. The cover and sleeves have a rough finish, not the shiny, glossy finish I'm used to seeing in modern LP releases. As a result the top half of the cover is almost too dark to see. This makes the overall product feel 'cheap'. Is this just me? I'm sure the Atlas release doesn't have this problem...
