Nothing new to say--totally agree with everyone. Don't pay through the nose for a copy of this unless it's strictly for collector purposes. If the sound is all you care for, this will certainly do the trick for 99.9% of people.

I’d recommend this pressing to anyone looking for a phenomenal sounding, inexpensive copy. Perhaps other pressings are marginally better but this is some “cheap heat” right here. I wonder if these plates are from the U.S. given that the “ATLANTIC STUDIO” appear only on a couple of American pressings. Perhaps those American plates were exported for other regions. Nonetheless, grab one if you can.

Edited 2 years agoyeah, i really dont like zeppelin all that much. a few songs here and there are ok, i guess. but. theres this song called "Achilles Last Stand". most definitely in the Top-5 masterful moments in the history of Hard Rock. and thats why i finally broke down and bought a copy of this LP.
And, im glad i did!! Jesus H Christ, this sounds AMAZING. this specific pressing is dead quiet and everything just SLAMS out of the speakers when its supposed to. the guitars are raw as hell, and the low end presence (no pun intended) in the recording just puts this out of the stratosphere in power and clarity. ive heard this LP since i was a little kid when my dad taped it off of a local radio station premier, and have suffered through endless horrible sounding youtube versions that sound so limp and lame.
Highly recommended pressing. and i agree, Canadian pressings dont get the credit they deserve. ive had many from many different artists over the years, and ive yet to hear a bad one. i would even say the late-70s "J.A.M.F." Canadian pressings of "Piper At The Gates Of Dawn" and "Beatlemania With The Beatles" are, arguably, the Definitive "must have" versions to get of those 2. but i digress...
Oh, Yeah, the rest of the album. its ok, i guess, but nothing special. i actually caught myself yelling at the stereo in the intro of "Nobodys Fault But Mine" saying "OK Thats Enough ALREADY!! Get to the freakin song already!" and finally bailed halfway through "Tea For One". i just couldnt take it anymore. -

Amazing sounding LP, mastered with incredible whomp & pressed on whisper-quiet vinyl. Bonzo's drumkit sounds positively insane on this pressing.

Edited 4 years agoThis Canadian pressing is pretty amazing. I don't think I heard a single snap crackle or pop on the entire record. I don't know if that's a pressing thing or I simply got lucky, but its one of the quietest records I own and I've had this copy for about 42 years. The lows are substantial and the high end is nice and crisp. I really like this pressing.

Amazing pressing. One of the best sounding Zeppelin albums I own. I love to preach Canadian 1st pressings because there is 0 hype and respect in the vinyl community about them. Often times the stampers weren't worn down as much as the US. Less #s going out. This one is no exception it has it all. Thundering lows, crisp highs and not missing any mids. Buy this, don't hesitate

Edited 4 years agoPresence is an album where Zep stretches out, not so much with their musical innovations but rather with songwriting structure. These are powerful songs as always, with the playing of the group in top form as usual. But there's something amnestic about these songs. That's not exactly a bad thing though. While you'll be long humming songs after listening to I-IV, and even Houses of the Holy, every song on Presence has room to breathe. The structure is certainly not as tight as it was in their previous albums. While this means for me that it's not on my top list of Zep albums, it is one that I probably would come back to most, if only because there seems to always be something new to hear or discover. These are all still marked as Page/Plant songs, but I know Plant was largely incapacitated and wheel-chair bound after a bad car accident. So perhaps we're largely feeling Page's influences here. And his guitar playing is as interesting as ever.
My album has a manufacturing defect where the cover got shifted slightly to the right. This means that the spine info is printed on the left of the front cover and the embossed title is slightly cut off on its rightmost side.
