Just picked this up on a whim and am stoked that it's the first press with the fade in version of AntMusic. The whole Antmusic mix sounds pretty different honestly. It's in Mint condition too!

Very annoying when sellers post versions on here other than the specified A1/A2. Can't tell you how many I've had to return to find that elusive first press - which, ironically, I found, correctly labelled as A2, mis-posted as a repress :-) :-)

The second instalment of Ant madness came along with the development of Adams’ signature Burundi drumbeats. This was a style that he had been introduced to by Malcom McLaren, the promotor and manager of bands such as the Sex Pistols and the New York Dolls. McLaren also wooed the of Adam’s band away to Annabelle Lwin in Bow Wow Wow. He also ensured that they adopted this signature style, so between Adam and Bow Wow Wo a raced began to get their music not the public’s ears first. an teamed up with guitarist Marco Pirroni for this album and got straight to writing their tracks that retained much of the artiness within ‘Dirk Wears White Sox’. The new Ants adopted a dress sense that resembled a native American style accompanied by a velveteen touch of dandy. This new style, and untouchable album very quickly overshadowed Bow Wow Wow. It reached no. 1 in the UK Charts, and became the no. 1 UK best-selling album of 1981. From start to finish this album embodies Ants’ aggressive bold sound and theatrical, energetic performances. The title track, along with ‘Press Darling’ and ‘Dog eat Dog’ are sure to be the standout tracks for me. ‘Antmusic’ shows the potential of the Burundi beat that the Ants’ became so well-known for and has a cheeky yet not egotistical chorus. Throughout the album the overdriven guitar, punchy lyrics and Burundi beats make this an essential New-Wave album. It is full of fun and catchy, and shows the vision and talent that both Adam and Pirroni had.

When I bought this album a couple of months after its release (from an independant record shop in Belfast), the album was presented inside a replica cardboard wallet of the cover, with some black and white photos of the band/Ant. The rest of the album was exactly as described in this listing. But I have never seen the version I got described anywhere. Can antone help me out with this?

Why is there no mention of the free promo single of Stand And Deliver that was released with some copies of this (KOTWF) LP? I have the single which was taped to the LP cover, but I can't recall what happened to the album.

Does anyone know if the original Lp version of "Antmusic" is the same as the "Alternative Mix" version on the 2004 Remaster of "Kings"?

If your copy for sale has the Ant Music "drumsticks intro", then it is the repress and needs to be listed here http://discogs.librosgratis.biz/Adam-And-The-Ants-Kings-Of-The-Wild-Frontier/release/2825548
