Very nice sounding pressing of this classic Deep Purple studio record. Highlights are obviously "Smoke on the Water", "Highway Star", "Space Truckin'" and the very John Mayall/Beano-esque blueser, "Lazy".
This one's a grateful version with the handwritten lyric folded sheet. -
For anyone curious about promo copies: Warner Bros. did not do white or promo labels for a short time around 72-73. Promo copies only had the pink WB promo sticker, usually on the back. Other examples of this that come to mind are Fleetwood Mac "Bare Trees" and Neil Young "Harvest". They then went to the Burbank labels and had promo labels again that stated "promotion only not for sale" on the stock burbank or reprise labels (colored, not white) and then around 76 they did the same thing again, moving away from the promo labels and back to only the pink stickers (Zappa "Zoot Allures", Fleetwood Mac "Rumours").
