Notes

Recorded & mixed at: The Record Plant, New York. Mastered at: The Mastering Lab, Los Angeles.

Track A5 - "Big Ten Inch Record" was composed by Fred Weismantel in 1952 and was originally recorded by Bullmoose Jackson.

This entry is for Columbia Records Pressing Plant, Pitman pressings with these distinguishing features:
• Runouts include “TML" for The Mastering Lab.
• Pitman pressing denoted by an often faint "P" stamped in the runouts.
• No etching identifying who the lacquer was cut by, such as “AZ" (Allen Zentz).
• No "o" stamp for Customatrix.
• The rear of the LP jacket has "AEROSMITH NEWSLETTER" and not "AERSOSMITH FAN CLUB".
• Ⓟ 1975 CBS Inc. on labels
• Runouts etched except stamped indicia for The Mastering Lab and Pitman.

Before adding any variants, be sure to compare to other Pitman pressings and recognize that "PAL" and "PBL" on Columbia releases indicate red-label pop and jazz records and not necessarily a Pitman pressing.

Really special rock album. As classic as it gets. Tyler & company give us some really memorable moments. Not a perfect album, to me. Always a fun listen.

I have this and a 1975 Terry Haute (1st) pressing, This one blows it away!! Sounds like it got the "Hot Mix" treatment. This is a 5 star for me.

Aerosmith - LOVE them. But, I do think that this plays too fast. At least what I am hearing. Wish songs played slower. Great music. great LP Album.

I think I have some weird hybrid pressing.. Matrix matches this release, but my jacket is lighter colored & says "Aerosmith Fan Club" on the back. I don't see another listing like it. Maybe it's a transitional pressing, when they went to using lighter colored printing, while retaining the early fan club sleeve text? That's my guess anyway.

Either way, I can't complain.. It's VG and was in my local record stores $1 bin. ;)

Beast of a pressing, a true “fat dog” very warm. Good tone is heavy and hard to carry!

I love it, one of my favorites and I listen to it all the time. I'd love to get a heavier more durable record as of course mine is quite used. I got it used for 2 dollars, and by that point it was well loved and pretty warped. Still plays fine though and has that nice aged sound. I like to pull this one out and Tarkus when showing my friends how cool records are.

This is an excellent pressing but I find the Chet Bennett master slightly better. It’s slight but like the balance slightly better. Seek out a Bennett master to own both vintage pressings that matter. No need to ever buy a modern remastered repress of this. Never

This is a super clean copy of a '75 pressing, mix is quite bass heavy, vocals are mixed quite low. Overall, lacking in sparkly highs as well. Not sure if the entire release was mastered this way or it is unique to the pressing. The kick drum is very punchy as a result, which is nice.

"You See Me Crying" has distortion on the vocals, clipping on the ensemble portions. I'm guessing this master is a little too hot.
