Edited 7 months agoI didn’t expect such a wide dynamic range when I first put this on today, 1984 you kidding me, everything sounds so well defined I wasn’t quite prepared for the bombast of We Rock, sounds even better today to my 50 yr old ears, I cranking this as one of my first LP’s as a 14 yr old. Today I’m listening on a Pro-Ject X2 turntable, a Marantz amp paired to Klipsch Heresy IV.. sounds fantastic

Edited 3 years agoI've been following Dio since the Sabbath "Mob Rules" tour, and have always appreciated his finesse and power. This man truly was one of the great frontmen of metal.
Was lucky to pick up MINTY copies of "Holy Diver" and "Last in Line". I ain't going to lie, I paid a for both of these.
Well, I was disappointed to hear A1, "We Rock" sounding less than stellar. It is weak and lacking in bass on my above average quality sound system. As I prepared myself for a half hour of disappointment, I was instead pleased to discover the rest of the tracks were perfectly normal. In fact LIL(title track) sounds incredible, especially when cranked to near concert volume.
I'm not sure why the first track was apparently mastered differently, but the remainder of the album more than makes up for it. In the end, this was an amazing listening experience for me.
