The album is great, no doubt about it. The mastering on the other hand is not. Like other s mentioned, you will have distortion and or sibilance on the tracks.

Etching says that this is my version of this LP. Mine is a very dark, smokey translucent black. Anyone else´s LP look like this?

Great album, but the mastering is not up to par with Holy Diver or Last in Line.

Tried various LP presses of this album and they sound equally bad. A lot of distortion across the tracks. Is this album just poorly mastered?

The third Dio's kick! The sound has become much denser, and the material of the album is more rigid and straightforward. But "Sacred Heart" can not be called a commercial album. The album simply does not have any weak or skip-through songs. This Dio album can easily be put on a pedestal next to the debut disc. Compared with the previous slightly boring "The Last In Line", "Sacred Heart" is seems more alive and interesting. As always, Dio's vocals sound powerful and strong. Melodies has become more thoughtful, although the sound has kept all its specific features like classical sound of guitar and drums. The best tracks: "King Of Rock And Roll" (I do not even doubt about whom it can be!), gloomy title track "Sacred Heart", performed in a rigorous Black Sabath manner, and the main hit of the album is "Rock n Roll Children". For me, "Sacred Heart" is a masterpiece, one of the strongest albums in the vast discography of the great Dio!
