Just obtained an original of this fantastic record. I think of it a bit like ABC’s Mutant Moments. Does anyone know how many were pressed? I would imagine 1000 or thereabouts? I can’t seem to find any info on quantities anywhere.

Perhaps it would have been better to replace "Science fact" with "Genetic warfare" for better symmetry - two uptempo tracks and two atmospheric ones. But this minor quibble aside, this one is as significant as the early works of the Human League and other synth pioneers. An impressive and absolutely one of a kind record that's as timeless as one can get.

Edited 12 years agoPretty fucking cool cover art along with fantastic fonts. Oh so very Minimal.
Content wise, it's all about New Girls Neutrons & Riot Squad.
New Girls Neutrons is really the most "pop" you'll get on this release. Well, if your idea of pop is Joy Division armed with only a drum machine and a 99 quid keyboard from Argos.
That's a good thing, obviously. This is pure Minimal, with typically intense lyrics.
Riot Squad is the real winner here, though. Think of The Normal. Think Suicide. This is really powerful post punk material.
The synths buzz & drone under random effects, while lyrically it's gonna fuck you up.
Seems like not much has changed since 1979.
