I may be wrong but some of these tracks seem different than what I recognize and one or two really sound straight outta Compton sound wise. Raw sounding vocals.

Edited 7 years agoMy friend Ben luckily went to the States back in 1988.
Jealous was not the right word to use! But when he came back to school after the holidays he came up to me and said:
"I bought this hip hop tape when I was out there in America and I don't really like it but you will!"
So after a quick negotiation, I gave him £5.
Also, he had the newest Nike trainers.
White with the classic red swoosh and two velcro straps (no laces).
I paid him £15 for both products.
Happy?
Nah.
Ecstatic more like!
This is no boast (I have no ego) but I was probably one of the first fortunate people to have a copy of this classic LP on cassette.
Now at the age of 45 years, I still love this album.
Obviously, as I have matured, certain lyrics have not aged well as they are very sexist.
But all in all the music production is amazing!
The amen break sampled on this album really was the first to bring it to the people!
Jungle Techno Hardcore Rave Darkside from the UK would not be the same without it.
Also what is important about this album is the fact that there was no beef between the west and east coast.
Why?
Because the whole LP is littered with plenty of east coast hip-hop samples.
Fresh for 2018 you suckers! Hahahahaha. Peace ;)
P.s. did Quiet On Tha Set influence Gunshot, the amazingly great UK Hip Hop act from the early 90's?
