Notes
"Live On Tour" was recorded at the Agora in Cleveland on December 18, 1978 and published as promo LP for radio broadcast. It was never officially released for the public. Only three songs (The Girls Want To Be With The Girls", "Electricity" and "Found A Job") were reprinted in the double live CD "The Name Of This Band Is Talking Heads"; one song (Psycho Killer) was issued as a 7" promo single in UK. All the others are still officially unavailable elsewhere.
Original second pressing.
Also in this one, as in the first pressing WBMS 104, the catalogue number appears on both sides, the Bugs Bunny logo is well printed with a sharp black outline, the embossed circle on the label is small, the texts are printed with a narrow font, the red ink is the same. But there are some differences: the production and mix are credited to David Byrne and Ed Stasium, the total durations are slightly different, the tracks are separated and on the runout there is a machine-stamped "STERLING" (the mark of Sterling Sound mastering studio).
One could propose a hypothesis: the very first pressing ( WBMS 104, produced and mixed by Talking Heads) was not satisfactory, and it was soon replaced by this one, produced and mixed by David Byrne and Ed Stasium. It is documented that this pressing was sent to the radio stations together with a printed presentation dated April 1979 signed by Ted Cohen, manager of Warner Bros. (see images).
After the release of the official edition, a counterfeit LP appeared with the catalogue number WBMS 104 RE-1 missing on side 2 and some other slightly differences in the labels (the more evident are: the blurred Bunny logo, while in the original has a sharp black outline, the texts printed with a different font, the big embossed circle in the label...). Years later other counterfeits and fakes were pressed, some in pink vinyl and blurred Warner logo on the label, some in black vinyl and no logo.
