ダフト・パンク* – Discovery = ディスカバリー

Amazing pressing. The golden discs are really nice (often have I seen golden discs be more of a dull yellow color). Back and front covers are magnificent and the sound is immaculate. Made with great attention of detail.

Great album, great anime companion to the album, love this pressing. I wouldn’t say it’s an amazing sounding pressing but it’s not bad either. This album is timeless imo, having it with the gold coloring and alt cover just makes it :chefs kiss:

Question: I just got this album and was wondering if anyone knows what the hip card and website number is all about. I would like to do it, I just worry that going to that website and putting in the number might lower the value. Can't really find much about it online.

This album is a game changing experience if you are a fan of daft punk & i’d recommend it!

I presume it’s the same highly detailed master as the 2024 black vinyl release. However, this definitely seems to have a lot more surface noise. I even run the HumminGuru Orbit anti-static machine over each side prior to playing to ensure it’s not just static. Pop and crackle after pop and crackle. Constant hiss like a picture disc. It’s really distracting in the quieter songs.

I’ve tried a simple G2 and microfibre pad clean and when that didn’t help I did an ultrasonic followed by a SPINCARE cleaning machine rinse. No improvement. I think this is baked-in or it’s something about the material they’ve used.

Wishing I hadn’t opened it now. I heard the black version and I do not recall much noise at all. I’ve since had my original copy replaced because the cover had been slightly damaged in the mail. I haven’t opened the replacement and wasn’t going to if this one sounded really good. Now I might be opening it after all. Even just out of curiosity to check that it is more silent if not completely silent.

I don’t have an original version, but to my ears this one sounds fantastic. Great soundstage and rich bass. Not a single pop or click after wet cleaning.

Mine came w/ an additional hype sticker, reading “Discovery Interstella 5555 Edition” on the front bottom left corner of the jacket…. and I’ve noticed some photos have that area blurred out.. Anybody know why?

Very nice, the cover is beautiful and the daft club card + stickers are really cool. The gold record itself is well done and actually very good looking, I was a bit worried it would look ugly like other gold records I've seen. Seems to be a bit noisier than my older copy of Discovery, but that may just be my individual copy. Overall great

This gold /5555 variant is supposed to be numbered yet I'm not seeing it anywhere...is it possibly written in Kanji (Japanese)?
