Hows the sound quality on this? Id assume not as good as other variants because it’s a picture disc.
-
Definitely doesn't sound as good as my OG copy...especially in the low end. Nice to have that cookie 7" though and the picture disc is nice looking!

Edited 6 months agoI like the idea of this LP being re-released. ts like GZA's "Labels" turned into a full album. Perfect timing, given RFK being allowed into Trump's Cabinet and Bill Gates investing in East African farmland ...
I checked out the bonus tracks, loved the sample flips for Just Blaze's "Kookies" as well as the subject matter, because as an educated consumer - I personally cant get enough of Oreos and damn it, that's type of madness that led to DOOM's demise, but the GOD was self-aware and puts that all on this record.
Yes, I prefer the original version of "One Beer" that Tyler,The Creator and Casey Veggies once murdered on "Bastard" - but that doesn't mean that there isn't any gems for bonus material here on this reissue.
The pimp rhymes on "Hoe Cakes" is up there with any Too $hort t I ever bought, and the Beatappella version is perfect because I love beatboxappella and wish more records were out there with that primitive instrumental base.
The phone interview is a cherry on top, peeling back a layer of some of the mystery behind DOOM with a vintage feel in the way the call was recorded that makes any person that has enjoyed a DOOM record feel warm inside as if they are actually picking his brain themself, and not the interviewer that had the luxury of doing so during one of DOOM's more publicized eras.
