Dangerdoom* – The Mouse And The Mask

It's MONO. The issues are caused by playing on stereo set up, to be fair it doesn't tell you, I'm finding this with multiple hip hop re-releases. If you get an amp that can switch all the distant sounding crackle n pop will vanish, and it's a crystal clear loud copy.

Like the dynamics and the sound. But on my copy I have a lot parts with strong sizzling s sounds...

Compared to the 2017 3LP, this is preferable. It's great to have the EP/remixes but the quality of that pressing just isn't as good as this. I usually use this copy to listen to the album and then throw on the 3rd disc from that after.

Interestingly, if you compare the records you can see that this 2015 pressing utilises the 12" space better than the 2017 pressing. There's a lot more deadwax on that pressing.That 2017 pressing has a bit more inner groove distortion and is generally noisier.

Note that this isn't perfect. There is some sibilance here and there, such as on DOOM's vocal on Mince Meat. I'm rounding this up from 4.5 stars.

Anyway, this is my favourite DOOM project, along with Vaudeville Villain and JJ DOOM. Meatwad sucks!

Of course this album is the GOAT but I’m thoroughly underwhelmed by the recording. It’s sounds really squeezed, so the subtlety and dynamics of Danger Mouse’s production are all but lost. It’s so disappointing to hear songs you know so well sound so flat and expressionless. I haven’t done the Pepsi challenge but wouldn’t be surprised if the mp3 version sounds better.

Pretty impressed with the whole package. Pressing is also surprisingly clean and quiet. Thick slabs of wax, 140g at least.

Great heavyweight vinyl, equally as impressive quality and attention to detail is executed on the sleeve and artwork. Feels like the first time in ages where I’ve been able to pick up some great quality and more than reasonably priced wax. Big up Lex Records!

The album art is beautiful but more importantly this pressing sounds amazing. I had the original pressing but was let down with the compressed/digital feeling of the audio, this one is a different story. Spread across two discs this pressing sounds the way i hoped the first pressing would. Highly recommended, classic DOOM.

What a relief! A great pressing. I had a bad experience with the 2017 2LP+EP reissue - https://discogs.librosgratis.biz/Danger-Doom-The-Mouse-And-The-Mask/release/10229848 - ended up having to send 3 consecutive copies back to a popular online retailer (they were selling for £15, which should have given the game away) because they sounded so terrible. Like a distorted mp3 file. This pressing sounds like a record. Great sleeve design too.

This album is great. Artwork, pressing, all of it.
I have little faith of it happening.......but, I got a copy of this used and it didn't come with the insert. If anyone has a trashed record or finds one......I'd buy it!
