It's not that hard to get it. I've always seen it as an ambient album made with amp . I understand it's not everybody's cup of tea, but i can say i've found a lot of information in that supposed nonsense.

My copy has no speed shown on it. I presume it was made to be played at 33 1/3 ? Or is it ? 😀

I love this record. I love the cover, I love the concept, I love imagining Lou Reed’s mischievous or artistic thought process behind it. I actually play this from time to time. One of my favorites to be honest. I find it relaxing and meditative. I turn the treble down a few notches which makes it less shrill and more atmospheric.

to be fair, you need to have a high IQ to understand metal machine music. The tinkering and smashing really goes over a typical listeners head.

If you look at the times on all four nimbers ( ??? ), it says it all : 16:01 .
As far as I am concerned , this is all one and the same !
And it says it all on cover : "no instruments used ".
Lou Reed had at the time contract with RCA for 2 more albums ( i.e. 2 X lp's ), so here you go .
He went out of his contract-mission fullfilled , and the music lovers buyer bought into it ( i.e. paid for it )!
What a scam; great original cover bu the way & that's all there is .

It's so different from any other album from the 70s and a noise album that has influenced artists that came after it.

Of course I'm gonna give it five stars. This is the Sgt Pepper of noise music.
