Beautifully written and played by the musicians surrounding Peter. He keeps putting out amazing art. His voice sounds so good.
The lp’s sound incredible in the sounds coming through my speakers. The bass is clear and the mix doesn’t over power PG’s vocals. Loving this box set and the artwork outside and inside. So much to enjoy. -
Boy do I disagree with the reviews below - I waited for the box set to come out before buying the vinyl, and the Dark Side vinyl in particular is full of distortion and sibilance - and that's after a wet clean. I have a good stylus and a decent system. I would say 80% of the new pressings I buy have issues like this - very frustrating quality control isn't what it was in the 70s and 80s.

This deluxe box set is incredible. Very well packaged. The 4 vinyl are quiet and amazing. But the Blu-ray Dolby Atmos mix is absolutely out of this world. I haven’t got to the CDs yet. I saw Peter on his 2023 i/o tour and really didn’t get into the i/o songs. But after listening to this album several times, I’m hooked. It made the wait for new PG music worth the wait! Don’t hesitate to buy the box set, especially if you have a high end system.

First play of disc 1 side A: the intro to Panopticom was distorted for like 10 seconds. I ran a brush along the side several times, but no luck. So then I ran my fingertip along the edge and I guess removed the obstruction, because it now plays perfectly.
Aside from the initial panic, I am very happy with the quality and sound of this entire package. Dead quiet. They are in the room with me. -
Edited one year agoNow this is how to press a box set! Rigid beautiful outer box, gorgeous hardcover book with incredible artwork/artist descriptions, cd’s and Blu-ray in a pocket inside the book. 4 LPs in individual sleeves with poly lined fabric inner sleeves and LP’s pressed at Pallas that are just flawless. This was absolutely worth the wait!

At least, after 18 years to wait these 12 beautiful songs.
Fine production, good pressing, fine soundscape.
