Reviews

Don't know how this compares to early US pressings, but I prefer my original Canadian pressing. This newer release is good too with vocals being a bit more prominent. To me though, it's just a little too bright. Maybe just a matter of personal preference, but especially on what originally was side B, the old pressing is darker and appropriately a bit more menacing.

major upgrade from my earlier single LP reissue, certainly better than the CD i had. the space the quieter mastering gives it really benefits the controlled chaos of the bomb squad. my nakamichi's "loudness" button is all the EQ i needed to make it bump. X on the edge of panic, baseheads in particular shine in this presentation imho. PE still #1 in this household.

Turn it up. In your face vocals but needs more bass, almost sounds like a newer mofi pressing (very clinical not enough bass where there should be). An excellent album and must have for rap fans.
-
Ok, goes without saying that the album itself is a masterpiece. Agree with other reviews here--turn up your volume and bass, maybe turn the treble down a tad, and it sounds great. Vocals especially shine here, Chuck is right up front and in your face--as intended I like to think.
-
needs ever so slightly cranked but man it sounds good. very clear and bassy. well deserved 2 lp reissue
-
sounds amazing, definitely a step up from any 1lp pressing i've owned! just make sure to crank up your volume as it is mastered quiet

Had not listened to this since probably the mid-1990’s. Grabbed this in a Walmart, gave it a vacuum wet cleaning and then a listen. I would imagine making this into 2LP’s has got to sound better than 30-ish minutes per side that the single LP has. Both records play fantastically quiet and sound quality is great.
