Notes
RTI identifiers in runouts on this version differ from the 2020 pressing.
2023 repress of the 2020 Tone Poet version. In the summer of 2023 Blue Note Records announced in the newsletter that a repress of the out of stock Tone Poet release was about to be released. In stores in July 2023 this versions has a different wording on the Tone Poet hype sticker on the outside of the release:
The 2020 version states:
"Mastered from the original analog tapes"
The 2023 version states:
"Cut directly from the original analog tapes"
Also, on the hype sticker, the 2023 has the text "STDLTNPCUT" that the hype sticker on the 2020 version does not have.
A Blue Note Records release; Originally released in 1956 by Pacific Jazz Records.

There is an error on the spine of the jacket. It says ''Stereo'' instead of ''Mono''. Just like the 2020 pressing.

Edited one month agoWhat a fantastic record, probably one of the more realistic experiences, as jeeves2nd said, if you listen to this vinyl on a valve tube system, with a tube phone phono stage too. Chet appears in front of you as soon as he plays or signs... perfect balance, amazing but AMAZING master. But not everything is perfect: YES, my new record, buyed from the Online Blue Note store, has some clicks and pops... maybe I will need to clean and wash the record and see what happens.

If you are fortunate enough to play this album through an all tube (NOS) system (it was recorded through an all tube chain) with either a mono cartridge or a mono preamp switch, in a dark room with a stiff drink in your hand, Chet will seem to appear before you. It is an unnerving experience.

Six copies tried, all of them had significant pops and clicks. It's a calm and relaxing record so it absolutely needs to be dead silent for me. I bet it's just a bad run that's out there right now. Will probably wait a year and try again as the sound is indeed phenomenal.

Finally got a decent copy of this from eBay after someone on here sold me “nm” copy which had a badly bent jacket with some nasty creases on it
