Edited 10 months agoThe one standout track on the original record is the Disco Citizens vs Tomski version of Don't Give Up, that thing sends me absolutely nuts, I'm lucky enough to have an original so will keep that safe for that track. But MOV rarely fail, always top notch quality, really pleased that Armada are using them as the norm.

Edited one year agoMy copy is a truly terrible pressing. There's a significant amount of repeating surface noise in the right channel to varying degrees on both discs. I've confirmed this with 2 different turntables and 2 different cartridges, one brand new. Side B is particularly atrocious.

Have had it on a CD all this time, always wished to have it on Vinyl. I’m writing the review as I’m playing Side A and it sounds great, almost as same as the original sound. And sleeve is of great quality using almost leather like texture, quite unique tbh never seen it before, well it’s the quality this album deserves. A stunning masterpiece, which was a gateway into trance music for me

Edited one year agoNever seen a textured sleeve like this before from MOV. So glad I found a copy via TurnTable Lab for here in the US. These MOV pressing can sometimes be tough to track down over here!

Saltwater's remix, which hasn't been released on vinyl before, is finally on it! I only had it on CD before. Wonderful!

Sounds perfect. Lovely gatefold sleeve with interesting texture, described as having "leather laminate" finish. (As someone who doesn't purchase leather, MOV assured me no actual leather is used, it's just a descriptor). Anyway, yeah, this is a great reissue.
Also, worth noting that first time vinyl issues for 'Thousand Mile Stare' and 'The Sum of its Parts' have been announced! -
Whilst Still slightly compressed I have a feeling this is as good as we're going to get due to the mastering of the album originally so its just a question of of whether you like it to sound as it did originally or the remaster which id say this comes directly from the original master.
Great pressing though. 1st LP has no noise what so ever and 2nd has a little noise but its not noticeable
-
Great sounding pressing -- very quiet overall and great sonics. My copy has a couple clicks/pops on "Overlap" but other than that it's virtually noise-free. After listening to this I immediately ordered the Giants reissue, also from MOV.

Received this great album from my distributor today. Sounds excellent. Quality of sleeve is kinda impressive. Very thick paper use. Great pressing of this classic album of Chicane. I noticed some background noise here and there which is not how it supposed to be. "Autumn Tactics" has some big background crackles which is dissapointing. Pressing is not flawless. I am not a big fan of transparant ... Strangly most of them have background noise at Music On Vinyl pressings. But this repress is kinda acceptable and lots of people will not notice it. Lots of tracks sounds really great. I hope the 1st album of Chicane will also get a repress one day with the everlasting classic "Offshore". 4/5
