After reviews here I'd ordered this picture disc. And I can't compare it to other releases of this album too, but for me the surface noise is clearly audible in the whole album. For sure the most time overlaid from music but in quiet songs and ages like in 'trust' or 'to wish impossible things' for example audible also in the background. On the other hand I'd subscribe that this release sounds really pretty good. Dynamical and clear. But I can't deny that I'm a little bit disappointed about the surface noise that narrows the pleasure of this fantastic Cure-Album a little bit.
But actually price tags for older versions comforting me about this and I don't know whether older versions (or other releases) comes without surface noise but with a sound like on this one. -
Edited 2 years agoI bought a copy today and I must say, it sounds pretty decent for a picture disc release. I've had a few picture discs over the years and they have without exception sounded notably worse than their black or coloured counterparts. The standard black vinyl of this release isn't available outside Europe at the moment (AFAIK), so I can't do a direct comparison. If you want this album and are worried about the picture disc impairing the sound quality, I'd err on the side of picking up a copy - which I didn't think I'd ever recommend for a picture disc release.

I know picture discs don’t get all the love in the world but my God this is one of the best sounding pic discs I’ve ever heard. I can’t compare it to the classic black but it’s far from disappointing! Minimal surface noise, clean, and dynamic. Buy it!

What about the sound quality? Picture discs are known for having depleted sound quality when compared to black or one colored vinyl. I wouldn't risk buying it if the intention is to listen, how has your experience been?
-
Nice artwork. It sounds quite good.
Unfortunately on D side there are some point where sound goes suddenly down for an instant. And it keeps doing like this for a couple of minutes...
Or is my copy...? -
I got my poster from the shopkeeper when i bought it , numbered of 1500. dont know where to store it now as its big and i dont want to fold it ..
-
Hi, just wondering where the posters came from? was it inside random copies or was there a place to get the picture disc + poster from?
-
Very good pressing and really fun to have it in Picture Disc form. This was the UK R.S.D. Black Friday 2022. Also came with a very limited poster. Numbered of 1500.

Haven't got this yet, but why would anyone want the picture disc? It's apparently the only option in the US rn until January
Might as well just by the black lp from Europe and save the time...
