Earthling is one of my favorite Bowie Albums. Great music, What Reeves Gabrels must be doing to that midi guitar to get those sounds is pretty crazy.
Now on to the pressing, sides A and C grade A on the Batwing, side B after a few cleanings was B-. Very frustrating, nothing noticeable by the naked eye.
I can A/B between level matched uncompressed digital and Vinyl. For this album, Digital is my choice. It’s brighter, more open and dynamic. The vinyl is darker and more compressed. -
Revisited this today and still sounds fresh. Timeless work. Love how he experimented with drum n' bass. Best and most experimental work he ever did as far as i am concerned. Love it. Who would have ever though bowie and drum n' bass. Plus, the pressing is incredible.

Edited 2 years agoSo glad this got a repress. As for the pressing itself, it sounds great to me. Lotta bass on this. Really rich low end. As for the music, I tend to disagree with most pop-culture music reviewers who seem to want to place this on the lower-end of his output. Yes, he was riding on the drum-n-bass coattails of the era, but this is also unmistakably Bowie and, as such, seems to have weathered the time better than the rest of the DnB of the era and still has a quite refreshing and modern sound to it. Or maybe it's just because we're all still afraid of Americans.

Very good pressing, sound is fine, bass are deep, highs shine. A little bit curved on side A, other side are ok.

Edited 2 years agoThe album itself is a great masterpiece, one of my favoirite Bowie's albums ever, so, it's wonderful to be released again to its 25-th anniversary. However, I was completely dissappointed to have heard slips on Seven Years in Tibet and Dead Man Walking what ruins all the satisfaction with such a brilliant album. The LP has no visible scratches or damages.
Has anyone got a similar problem? -

Edited 2 years agoLove the press other than the unnecessary cramming of both discs into one pocket of the gatefold and glueing the other side shut. Weird choice but just happy to finally have this on wax!
