Yes, the electronic sounds are here. The beats are here. The expertise in mixing and production, check! But even with this mountain of skill, experience and equipment the album is forgettable, let alone dated. The songs are bad. They try to conceal the fact by burying under longer hams and more electronic effects. They should have spent more time working on the melodies and some of the riffs and hooks rather than try to baffle us with electronic marvels. The Chemical Brothers and Moby among others, did a much better job around the time of this album's release. I stumbled on this album while checking out a remix they did for Saint Etienne ("Filthy") on one of THEIR remix albums ("Casino Classics"). More often than not - and I've noticed it plenty of times - some artists or DJs are called upon to fix up or prep up a track or two on someone else's album, and many times they do a magnificent job, however their own albums are nothing to brag about. Perhaps this is their niche: remixing other people's songs. There's good money in it.

No reviews about this t ? Well, let's get started !

This is undoubtedly one of the best big beat albums in history, and quite a pearl of electronic music.
I do not know a lot of albums where ALL TRACKS are excellent. This is the case here.
Each minute, each second, each beat, each note is pure awesomeness. The consistency of these holy 72 minutes never fails.

Want to escape routine ? Just listen to the first song "Make Jah Music". This jam alone is already worth the money. Its arabic atmosphere combined with the rolling bass and those huge beats shows how godlike big beat is able to be.
The unstoppable beats of "Steppa's Ball" and its cool bass are also a heavenly addition.
"The Whore of Babylon" features one of the best build-ups ever followed 5 minutes after the beginning by ENORMOUS tempos.
"Retreat Wicked Man" also features an epic break around the 2:30 mark until 3:05, then... BOOM ! The vocals are also superb.

Eventually, the whole album will leave you speechless, especially if it's your first listening. A wide open mouth may also be possible at the end (it was my case when I discovered it).
I'd also mention that "I Am Fresh" is part of the "Hackers" movie soundtrack and "Work Mi Body" introduces the first CD of the amazing "Coastal Breaks" DJ mix by Adam Freeland.

I won't beat around the bush anymore : buy it. More than an advice, it's a necessity if you need some rhythm in your life.
I listened to it one night while driving around the town : one of the best experiences I've ever lived. I am convinced that some of the 90s' electronic music have a particular feeling that you don't find anywhere else.
You can listen to it anywhere, unfortunately some of your neighbours may not appreciate it as much as you. In that case : headphones recommended !
