Edited 2 years agoMy intro to punk rock, my motive for my PUNK NEVER DIES!-!¡!¡ shirts, and I basically told my mother if she broke the CD i was listening to it upon, like she said she was gonna do if she heard one more swear word. I said I would tell Sloth, that before he killed me for the atrocity of its DAMAGED condition, HE SHOULD KILL MY MOTHER FIRST, LET ME WATCH, as...SHE BROKE IT, NOT I, I FUCKING LOVED IT!!!

I’ve had a few pressings of this record. IMO this is the one to own. Clean press, no surface noise, sounds big. Fucking essential record.

Although "First Four Years" is a compilation of disparate tracks recorded with different singers it has a pleasing flow and one knockout tune after another, bracing and life affirming in every way. It shouldn't be necessary to say, but if you have even a fleeting interest in punk rock and hardcore you probably should own this record. It's as essential as essential gets. Catharsis and liberation from pain both physical and psychic are delivered with zero pretense and maximum energy and volume, along with a sense of humor about it all. Play it loud!
