man, what a fabulous pressing. very clean and solid pressing. mine has a "for promotion only" (idk if all copies has this sticker) on the back

When I managed my old shop, someone brought in a bunch of albums, and this one just happened to be in the collection. However, it was so warped it was practically unplayable. My boss tediously worked it with the vinyl pi for a week and it’s one of the best sounding vinyl I think I own. So happy I could complete his OG discography 🙌🏻🙌🏻

Edited 2 years agoThis release is the best sounding MJ's Invincible album ever released on media so far. Except, the Promo version seems to sound richer comparing to the official 2001 Market release. Yet, don't wonder if the Promo version you receive is warped on 1 of the 4 sides at least. The Pros and Cons. I agree the album may sound a way better(too much Highs and Mids seems to be there in this particular recording by default before you correct it with an amplifier's and/or equalizer's settings), but that's the best recording of the album released so far anyways. The jacket does seem flimsy for the double vinyl issue. Also, that's not the Gatefold, which would be preferable in this case.4 out of 5, yet you'd not find a better recording released. Get the Promo one for it seems to sound better if
record's warping is not a big deal to you. That should be most superior for listener's experience. For fine listener's experience and fine resale value, get the official 2001 mass production Market release. I it experience can vary on case by case basis. I shared my own decades experience with this release so far.

This pressing is very close to being excellent, but doesn’t quite hit all the marks. The sound quality is generally very good, but a few songs are sullied by sibilance issues and the sound quality degrades slightly when nearing the end of each side. Each side is misprinted, causing some tonearm waggle, but I can only hear slight sound warping from it on side A. Also, there is a 1.5” scratch at the beginning of side D right from the factory which is, thankfully, not audible. The LPs are normal lighter weight, the printed inner sleeves are good quality, and the non-gatefold jacket is a little flimsy. I compared the sound quality directly to the 2009 MOV reissue and found that they sounded very similar and both had the same kinds of issues. The few instances of sibilance aren’t quite as harsh here on the original, but the IGD is slightly worse on at least two of the sides and the sound warping on side A was kind of a deal breaker. So, after a lot of hot swapping LPs and scrutinizing little nuances, I found the MOV reissue to be a more pleasant listen and I would recommend that pressing over this one. I paid up for this sealed 2001 pressing and I really wanted it to be a big step above the reissue, but, unfortunately, it let me down. Both versions, while not perfect, are plenty enjoyable to listen to, but if you are prepared to invest the money in one or the other, I would go with the reissue.

Edited 5 years agoFantastic pressing if you can get hold of one without damage to the sleeve (which is thin and not really strong enough for the weight of the records).

PROBABLY HIS BEST EFFORT AFTER OFF THE WALL..AT THE TIME OF THIS ALBUM DROPPING HE WAS GOING THROUGH LABEL POLITICS HENCE THE ONLY SINGLE TO GET FULL FINANCIAL BACKING WAS " ROCK MY WORLD...NOT EVEN HAVING EVE ON "BUTTERFLIES" REMIX WHICH TO MY KNOWLEDGE NEVER GOT RELEASED COULD SAVE THIS BRILLIANT ALBUM....HE ALWAYS SAID THE LABEL OWED HIM MILLIONS IN ROYALTIES...TO ME THIS WILL REMAIN A CLASSIC..F WHAT THE RECORD COMPANIES THINK!! Edited 9 years agoThis is the album that I repeat on my AudioTechnica deck 24/7. This is the most underrated LP both produced, performed and written by Michael Jackson. Every single song on there is magical but none stands out more than 'Heartbreaker' for me followed by 'You Are My Life', 'Break of Dawn', 'The Lost Children' and 'Cry'. A few touch ups and it would of done better but it's amazing!
5🌟 out of 5!!!!
