Edited 11 months agoJust checked in to see prices as I’ve not bothered since I bought my VG+ copy in London in 1987 for £150.
You have to understand it wasn’t that rare back then, shop I bought from in Brixton isn’t there now and closed decades ago, had two copies.
Pre internet, people just didn’t want these records back then. Only a handful of outsider music fans were interested in this stuff.
You could pull now called ‘rare’ albums for cheap because there wasn’t a real market for them outside of a few collectors.
I built my collection from car boot sales, jumble sales, charity shops and the like.
The last 30 years have shown that everyone wants to be a record collector.
In those days people wanted CDs not records.
It was great for me! :)
Look at niche music that’s not selling now, that’s the stuff that’ll be rare in 30 years.

A sui generis gem of the 1970s, of the same order of genius as Comus’ ‘First Utterance’ but without the decadent insanity.
Oh, to have been with her on that Hebridean trip. -
yes excellent album, I own a version of the CD version Dicristina Stair Builders STEP04, that has a 12 page colour booklet as well as a foldout b/w poster, with Vashti shown in her psychfolk/ISB days circa '68 playing violin, as well as a Swinging London portrait circa 1965 picturing her on Lots Road in Chelsea ( Song For Lots by Family!) perhaps wating for Andrew loog oldham? Is this the commong DiCristina version
