Very rarely am I blown away by the sound quality of a record and this pressing of Thriller has certainly exceeded my expectations. Easily one of the best sounding albums in my collection.

I have just acquired this disc and I will not say that it is better than an original European or Japanese press and in my opinion much worse than an original American press from 1982 Pitman. The bass is there, on the other hand the voice, the highs are less good. We feel less of the energy in MJ’s voice, especially when he puts on power. The album is less energetic and punchy than an original. On Human Nature the stereo guitars of Steve Lukather of the group Toto are a beacon of the title and they are wasted, they had to be left as on the American original. Afterwards it remains good, it’s a different listen.

This is the Japanese Master Sound Digital Mastering copy of #michaeljackson #thriller #mastersound This is 1000x better sounding than the #halfmastered copy. Totally in love with this. This may give the #onestep a fight.

I own all the notable copies of this once in a lifetime masterpiece pop album and boy does this stand out! Now I wouldn’t say this is better than an original 1982 American, UK or Japanese pressing because it is a different beast entirely. The soundstage is pretty damn perfect with all the songs having a perfect balance between the high end and bottom end. The small details in the arrangements come through very nicely a great example is the rhythm guitar that comes in during the chorus of the title track. Michaels voice sits nicely alongside the music and doesn’t overpower it the way it does on some of the shitty remasters. However this particular pressing doesn’t have the smooth analogue sound quality of the original pressings which does benefit the music tremendously but that really is just down to personal preference and shouldn’t detract in any substantial way from the true merits of the pressing in general. Is it worth the pretty high prices sellers ask for ? Idk maybe if your a thriller enthusiast / collector like me I would say it is.

This cut of Thriller is amazing. Dead quiet vinyl, amazingly clear mastering, slammin’ bass, huge soundstage, and none of the vocal sibilance present on the original U.S. cut.

The Mobile Fidelity One Step will have to beat this one when it drops later this year.
