Relentless. Longer than many LPs I own, which presuming you like the music is a good thing. If I was a worker in this factory, I think I'd be happy to listen for about 8 hours.

A little-known fact: the skipping around the 2:32 mark of Key Nell I is caused by an 'intentional defect' requested by Gescom. The intention was a physical representation and implementation of chance, change, and chaos, injected organically into the music.

Just kidding I fucked up my record.

Annoying that it didn't get better distribution back in the day, it is a viable IDM release that alongside the Ae remixes would make a great 60 minute CD album. Keynell 4 is like an "acoustic" companion to the Garbage EP "VLetrmx".

interview with luciano about special record for him.
            transalted by google.

"This record was shown to me by Ricardo (Villalobos, nr.) When we were together in Chile at the end of the nineties. It completely changed my view of music. Gescom and Autechre can be quite challenging with their intricate rhythms, but the way they handle melodies here has shown me how electronic music can sound. It is still dance music, but it addresses completely different regions in the brain. I connect a very specific experience with the record: I was in the car with Ricardo and a few friends on the way to a party, where we should hang up. We just heard the long A-side piece when we had a serious accident. The car landed on the roof and the only thing left was the music. We went to the party on foot. "

Gescom – Key Nell (Skam, 1996)

this is one amazing record, hands down my favorite Booth/Brown release (though I would have to add the Key Nell A + B remixes to this as well). the tracks follow a sort of theme - similar, very solid, crunchy beats, a chopped vocal sample that "solos" in several of the tracks, and string-type sounds. atmospheric, funky, crunchy, somewhat lo-fi, emotional, beautiful. a fantastic piece of music - Booth and Brown at their best.

A truly sublime piece of music that will go on forever in the depth of my mind. Well worth tracking down if you haven't got it. The bubble wrapping was the icing on the cake. Sugoi!
