This has to be one of my demo records. It’s really hard to imagine how a record can sound any better with so much going on musically in the rhythm section. Not only is this system demo record, but a mix reference for any aspiring musician making a dense record. The mastering on this allows for the mix to shine well.

The bass is fantastic on this old Canadian pressing. (Play loud.)

Just found this in a used bin for 15 bucks and I am blown away at what a great pressing this is! The bass guitar jumps out…vocals and percussion pop as well.

My personal fave talking heads record. Tickled to have an lp version that sounds so good! No complaints about this pressing at all

Stupendous sounding LP, punchy & hard-hitting as Mike Tyson, with a 3-D soundstage par excellance.

Excellent mastering by the infallible Joe Webster! Percussion pounds HARD in great detail with a killer bottom end thud; quirky synths buzz, rumble & float straight in front of you in a great stereo image & big airy soundstage; bass tones SUPER robust & present; Byrne's vocals prominent and upfront; lovely crystalline clarity all over; and so on...

The Talking Heads' exotic rhythms have always been regarded as absolute sonic masterpieces, Speaking in Tongues being no exception, and this above average Canadian release certainly does it justice.

I've got a copy from Canada with 92 38831 on the spine, but with a different 'stamp'. It has no pressing code ('Q'), above the A and B it says 238831 instead of 92 38831 and the other information is different. Is it a variation of this release or can I add it as a different version? Can't find this release on Discogs.

Speaking in Tongues is the fifth studio album by the band Talking Heads, released in 1983. The album was a commercial breakthrough that produced the band's first (and only) American Top 10 hit, "Burning Down the House", which was accompanied by a promotional video.

The album's tour was documented in Jonathan Demme's film Stop Making Sense, which generated a live album of the same name. (The concert film and live album's title comes from the repeated phrase "Stop making sense!" during the song "Girlfriend Is Better".) In addition, the album crossed over to the dance charts, peaking at number two for six weeks.[8] It is also the group's highest-charting album on the American Billboard 200.
