Fifth studio album released June 1, 1983.
Robert Rauschenberg designed the album cover for Talking Heads’ fifth studio album. Rauschenberg’s cover, with three spinning plastic discs and a clear vinyl LP, all packed in a vacu-form clamshell, was too costly for regular copies of the album; so, the album was issued with a conventional (David Byrne designed) cover and a limited-edition Rauschenberg version. In 1984 Rauschenberg won a well-deserved Best Album Cover Grammy Award for his cover.
The cassette version contained longer versions of five tracks than the LP, "Making Flippy Floppy", "Girlfriend is Better", "Slippery People", "I Get Wild/Wild Gravity", and "Moon Rocks".
CD pressings prior to 1990 (including target CDs) use the LP edits of these songs, while most pressings from 1990-onwards use the full versions. Catalog numbers are identical between these two types of CD releases, and some CD releases of the extended album display the LP edit's timestamps on the back.

My copy was skipping in the first track of both sides, but after testing a bit I found out it was my turntable. So basically the record is almost flawless (except for the static thanks to the paper inner sleeve).
If you experience skips in your copy, check the arm weight. -

One of the best reissues I have sounds better than first press! Rhino reissues are some of my favorites and don't cost half of Analogue production reissues.

A perfect pressing. Dead flat and no surface noise. Nice punchy mix that's perfect for this album. No, it does not skip. Clean it out of the jacket and play it on a decent turntable, and you won't be disappointed. It's also surprisingly cheap for how good it is. -
After several major stereo upgrades just dug this out from my old college collection….great sounding pressing, don’t have a first pressing to compare but this is fabulous, nicely balanced, solid bass and crisp clean highs.

Beside the clear versions, there's also a dark red vinyl - not on discogs, I think -
Have this Argentinian edition on Blue vinyl. Besides skipping near the beginning, both sides distort heavily as you reach the end. Naive melody has really distorted synths and vocals. Pretty edition and has cool goodies but wouldn’t recommend it based on the sound quality.
