Edited 7 years agoThis is one of my favorite EPs from the Seefeel collective!
Lets start with the remixes:
The 2 remixes by Aphex Twin are dope! The Fast Mix having more colours and ambiences to my tastes.
The Sine Bubble embossed Dub remix of "Plainsong" is a dub techno gem and the fact that Mark Van Hoen (a.k.a. Locust) is behind the production is no surprise, as we collaborated with the collective. That song has hints of acids and ambient to it, you'll feel in trance and infused with that remix. Amzaing work!
The other tracks:
"Plainsong" has an uplifted dubby beat and a highly positive loop with beautiful ethereal vocals, the perfect starter for this EP.
"Moodswing" is the first song I ever heard from Seefeel and the track that pushed to discover more. I always got back to listening to that piece of seducive dub and I never got tired of it. It is part of my history of electronic music discovery and part of our history as well. 1993, what a great year for electronic music! It's Chapterhouse's retranslations by Global Communication, The Irresistible Force's Flying High, Aphex Twin's On, YAP's Young American Primitive, etc... And it's that year that Seefeel put out Quique, More Like Space EP and that Pure, Impure EP. The next year, they released "Polyfusia" that gathers those 2 EPs so grab that one to get all the songs. I like having them in EP format because of teh mood that sets in as you listen to them.
"Minky Starshine" is a very moody track also, perfect to provoke lucid dreams!
