Absolutely fantastic pressing. This version was actually my third crack at a physical record for this wonderful album because the first two (both of them translucent white) sounded horrible to put it mildly. It wasn't just the surface noise (which was terrible), but general playback sounded muted and muddy with painfully rolled-off treble. I was almost about to give up before taking a chance with the solid white version, which I can honestly say is at least equal in quality to the high-end digital versions. I need to give a couple more listens between the two formats before I can make a solid verdict one way or another.
If anyone is on the fence about purchasing this record, do yourself a favor and buy the solid white version because it sounds outstanding. It'll certainly be more costly than the translucent white, but it's worth every penny because of its far superior quality. -
I was nervous when one disc looked to have chunks of stuff in the vinyl, but it didn’t end up affecting the sound at all. Sounds absolutely perfect -
I can honestly say this sounds much better than the digital counterpart. Pressing is very crisp and the vocal performance feels so alive and pleasing. This album has more of a "monotonous" production when compared to other hip-hop albums, but the dynamics of this pressing really bring this simple laid back production to new heights. Very impressed with this, possibly one of the best sounding in my collection. -
My copy has surface noise as if I were spinning sandpaper on my turntable. A wet clean made it no better. I'll definitely try and get a replacement. -
My pressing of this has a bunch of little dimples all over it. I was pretty surprised to find that it still plays very well for the most part. There are a few pops and things, but for the most part it sounds very good. Dynamics are good as well.
