Dua Lipa – Future Nostalgia

This is how cassettes should be mastered. This Dua Lipa album sounds great throughout. Many recent cassette releases just seem to be CD's tapes onto cheap cassettes. This one sound every good and I have played this on three different players. Every cloud has a silver lining though, and this cassette has one flaw and that is it's horrible digisleeve. The writing on the back is perfectly legible, and the print quality is great, as are the copies but the problem is this type of sleeve deteriorates very quickly. I have put mine in a standard cassette case that does not have the teeth. It allows me to put this on my cassette shelf.

Mine is certainly not recorded at the right speed. Opening track "Future Nostalgia" averages 111 bpm instead of the 116 bpm of the original, which results in a very evident lower pitch. I will keep this cassette because of the looks, but the tempo issue is so serious that I find it hard to imagine myself ever listening to it. Printing quality of the slipsleeve is not impressive but it's not terrible either — just average for this format.
